History of clothing

The next room represents the history of clothing. The travel suitcase on the right side was produced in Budapest (cca 1900) and shows a shawl used as an overcoat for ladies garderobe cca 1885).

Opposite you can see a jewelry box from the late 18th century. Framed fashion papers from Berlin and Budapest are displayed on the wall. Below you can see a showcase which displays a silk scarf embroidered with Orient gold thread (cca 1800), small bag embroidered with pearls, a waistband decorated with email and hairpins. The second showcase displays pearl jewelry used as a patch on women´s dress, a wallet made of seashell, a dance book which was used by young ladies for writing the order of their dancers during a ball. In the third showcase you can see a silver crown with a brooch from 1880 which was used on the occassion of a silver wedding anniversary, a pendant „God eye“ made as a watercolor painting on ivory (cca 1820), a mirror made in a style of second Empire (cca 1870), brooches made of grey human hair called „sweet rose“ (late 19th century) and of lava (Venetian lion, Venice, early 19th century). Next to the sewing machine there is a wooden washing machine from the half 20th century. Above the door you can see an Art Noveau hinge (early 20th century).
