7. Fashion

The culture of clothing is presented in the transition room.

The suitcase on the right, made around 1900 in Budapest, contains a shawl that served as a clothing accessory for ladies' toilet (around 1885).

On the suitcase you can see another suitcase and a hat box from the manufacturer from Kežmarok (around 1900). On the wall there hangs a lithograph depicting the Emperor, Joseph I and his wife, Elizabeth, nicknamed Sissi. Among the fashion letters from Budapest and Berlin from the 80's and 90's another representative portrait of Sissi from the 19th century can be found.

Hats are displayed in a showcase from the 1920s - women's ones from the 1930s and men's ones from the end of the 19th century. Below there is black pearl jewelry used as patches for women's clothing, a silk scarf embroidered with gold thread from the Arabian Orient (around 1800). Women's blue Baroque brocade shoes (around 1700) are among the oldest preserved ones in Slovakia. The collection is complemented by women's shoes from the end of the 19th century.

Above the door to the next room there is an Art Nouveau curtain - a porter (early 20th century) and next to the door you can find a framed tapestry.

On the round table there is a box for cuffs and paper men's collars. Next to it there is a washing machine from 1947 or a sewing machine from the beginning of the 20th century from the world-famous company Singer, decorated with a sphinx.
