Items related to the customs of smoking pipes and the culture of writing are displayed in the next room. Below the window you can see pipes made of ceramic, wood, porcelain, metal and sea foam, which come from the 17.-20. century. In the corners there are shelves used for storaging pipes, co-called pipatorium from the early 19th century. The showcase on the left side displays inkstands, letter knives, paper weights, servants table bells made in a shape of an Oriental deities. Dutch figural stand for pens and seals from the 17.-20.century.

On the left side there are writing desks in various historistic styles, i.e. neoclassical one from about 1860´s, two Neorococco desks made of pear and walnut wood represent ladies and gentlemen´s style of writing desks (the late 19th century). A black NeoRenaissance table (cca 1880) is decorated with mother of pearl and brass and a woman´s writing and dressing table is made of mahagony (cca 1900).

Opposite there is a Biedermeier escritoire (1830-1840). The next ones are so-called parlor tables from the Rococo, Classicism and Neorococo period. The first two tables come from the late 18th century and represent the type of gaming tables with drawers on each side. You can see a pastel portrait of Babett Mariasy from the late 18th century above the tables.

Maybe you´ve noticed a bizzare appearence of the lady. It was caused due to a historic superstition saying that a child painted with adult features will survive the period of high infant mortality. Round Rococo table represents the type of a tea table and comes from the half of the 19th century. Every one of the three above mentioned tables is richly decorated with inlays.
